1. Jackson spends some time at the beginning of her essay on STruth setting up the historical and cultural context for her speech. What have you done to set up the context for you video?
2. On page 62 Jackson makes her claim for the significance of Truth's speech. She connects slavery and women's suffrage, a personal experience with a movement. Are there two things in your video that connect to provide the producer's persuasive theme for your video. In other words, what experience of the author/producer of the video is put into play in order that his/her audience is persuaded to see themselves moving in a particular direction. Explain.
3. Does your video employ emotional claims (pathos)? How are they similar or different from Truth's appeals (p63)? What core emotion is addressed in your ad and what do the producers of the video hope will happen when these "buttons" are pushed, and how likely are they--those that make up the audience for the ad--to be persuaded by such appeals?
